Responsibilities, Accountabilities & Decision Making Authority:
1. Supplier Evaluation & Selection:
? Participate in the assessment, qualification, and selection of suppliers in alignment with the company’s quality and compliance standards.
? Conduct supplier audits and risk assessments to evaluate supplier capabilities and quality systems.
? Collaborate with procurement and engineering teams to review and approve supplier processes and systems.
2. Supplier Quality Management:
? Develop and implement supplier quality agreements, defining clear expectations and standards.
? Work closely with suppliers to establish and maintain robust quality control and assurance processes.
? Monitor supplier performance through KPIs, including defect rates, on-time delivery, and corrective actions.
3. Quality Issue Resolution:
? Lead root cause analysis and problem-solving efforts for supplier-related quality issues.
? Implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) with suppliers to ensure issues are resolved effectively.
? Utilize quality tools, such as 8D, FMEA, and Fishbone Analysis, to address quality problems and prevent recurrence.
4. Continuous Improvement Initiatives:
? Identify opportunities for improvement in supplier processes and promote lean and Six Sigma methodologies.
? Lead or participate in continuous improvement projects with suppliers to drive quality and cost optimization.
? Provide technical guidance to suppliers on process control, testing methods, and quality management practices.
5. Documentation & Reporting:
? Maintain accurate records of supplier audits, quality assessments, and corrective actions.
? Prepare regular quality performance reports for internal stakeholders and senior management.
? Ensure all supplier-related documentation complies with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
6. Collaboration & Communication:
? Collaborate with internal teams, including engineering, production, and procurement, to ensure alignment on quality standards and expectations.
? Act as the primary point of contact for supplier quality issues and facilitate effective communication channels with suppliers.
? Provide training and guidance to internal and supplier teams on quality standards, specifications, and improvement strategies.
Job Requirements and qualifications:
?Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field- Master’s degree preferred.
?Knowledge and understanding of ISO 9000, JIS QMS, ISO 9001, and other quality management systems.
?Minimum of 2 years of experience in the quality control/quality systems area is required.
?Experience with ISO 9001 and 14000 certification programs a plus.
?Experience in Quality Management System, QMS or related field required- 3+ years of experience in the development and implementation of quality management systems for machines or products.
?Must have experience with statistical methods and/or data collection, including quality control measures for machine design.
?Experience in quality systems, quality control, and/or quality assurance preferred.
