SUMMARY
OF POSITION
As supportive role of Category Sourcing Manager, drive and facilitates supplier
development projects to ensure capable supply chain of providing increased
flexibility and responsiveness, improved utilization of asset, improved quality
and reduction of overall cost. Lead/support improvement processes with
strategic suppliers for mutual and sustainable benefits by improving JLG and
supplier processes. Work closely with
strategic and operations purchasing to develop order fulfillment and
flexibility plans. Work with Strategic Purchasing to help implement commodity
strategies ensuring a capable supply base.
Key
Accountabilities (as supportive role of Strategic Procurement Manager):
1. Work as regional team to support
global GPSC goals and performance
2. Identify, source and develop qualified
supplier for corresponding commodity, be responsible to develop and maintain
solid and reliable relationship with his/her own suppliers to meet Oshkosh Asia
“QSTP” standard
3. Drive actions to exceed supply quality and
customer delivery objectives, support the plants in driving resolution to
significant supplier issues
4. Establish and maintain supplier quality rating
system
5. Lead and manage corresponding commodity
projects through the sourcing process, coordinate with multifunctional project
teams to reach sourcing target
6. Create, implement and communicate the
regional commodity strategy to the organization, push strategy alignment with
Global Commodity Managers
7. Monitor and manage commodity spend in
Asia
8. Analyze the Regional potential market
/ supplier base (macro analysis)
9. Keep regular report about commodity
sourcing progress and activities to direct manager as required
10. Initiate and manage both LCC and
localization projects to support global and regional business for corporate and
BU
11. Coordinate with U.S.-based Product
Management, Engineering, and Global Procurement teams to ensure supplier
readiness aligns with global go-to-market strategies.
12. Support sourcing readiness activities
aligned with new product introductions (NPIs), engineering changes, and
regional ramp-up plans.
13. Other tasks as assigned by direct
manager
QUALIFICATIONS
(education, experience, certifications, skills)
1. Bachelor’s in science degree with
major in engineering, mechanical, electrical, material or technical related
fields.
2. Above 2 years of purchasing, supply
chain and/or materials management experience in truck, engineering and/or
automotive industries. Or tactical purchasing in plant or manufacturing.
3. Basic understanding about commodities
and parts, especially about one of these:
a. China and
international steel material
b. Weldment and
fabrication assembly
c. Composite
d. Electrical
parts
e. Hydraulic
valve, pump, cylinders
4. Good inter-personnel and presentation
skills
5. Able to read blueprints, interpret
drawing and specification requirements
6. Primary knowledge and understanding
about quality management, quality tools, manufacturing, engineering, and
logistics.
7. Have skills of data analysis and
report
8. Excellent communication skills in both
English and Mandarins
9. Strong team player, and cooperative
work style
10. Knowledge and experience in MRP system
are preferred
