Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Product Quality Engineer to oversee and ensure the quality of hardline home products from design through production. This role will work closely with product development, sourcing, suppliers, and manufacturing partners to establish quality standards, perform inspections, and implement corrective actions across the supply chain.
Key Responsibilities:
Collaborate with product and sourcing teams during product development to define quality standards and requirements.
Develop and maintain quality specifications, inspection protocols, and AQL levels for various hardline categories (e.g. kitchenware, tools, furniture).
Conduct pre-production (PPT), inline, and final product inspections to ensure compliance with company and regulatory standards.
Work directly with factories and third-party labs on product testing, compliance documentation, and certification (e.g. REACH, Prop 65, EN standards).
Lead root cause analysis (RCA) and implement corrective/preventive actions (CAPA) for quality issues or product returns.
Monitor supplier performance metrics and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
Handle customer quality complaints and coordinate investigation and resolution with relevant stakeholders.
Stay up to date with global safety and compliance regulations applicable to hardline products.
Key Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality Management, or a related field.
3–6 years of quality experience in hardline consumer products (e.g. kitchenware, hardware, home tools, home décor).
Familiarity with ISO9001, AQL standards, product testing requirements, and compliance regulations.
Hands-on experience working with factories across Asia (China, Vietnam, etc.).
Excellent communication skills in English (written & spoken); Mandarin is a plus.
Strong problem-solving mindset and attention to detail.
Ability to travel occasionally for supplier visits or inspections.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with international retailers or brands.
Knowledge of compliance requirements for key markets (EU, US, Canada).
Experience using quality management tools such as 8D, FMEA, or Six Sigma methods.
