Position Summary The Supplier Product Quality Engineer (SQE) at TydenBrooks China ensures the quality and compliance of incoming materials and components from suppliers through on-site and remote inspections. This role involves rigorous quality control (IQC/OQC), supplier development, and adherence to ISO 9001 and ISO 17712 standards. The SQE leverages Six Quality Tools to drive continuous improvement and acts as a key liaison between suppliers and internal stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
1. Supplier Quality Assurance · Conduct on-site and remote (video-based) inspections for Incoming Quality Control (IQC) and Outgoing Quality Control (OQC) per approved drawings and specifications. · Perform dimensional, functional, and durability tests using calibrated equipment (e.g., CMM, micrometers, gauges) and testing equipment (e.g., tensile tester, hardness tester, dimensional projector...etc.) to meet ISO17712 standards and other compliances required for temper-evidence security seal products and related. · Document non-conformances (NCRs) and lead SCAR (supplier corrective action report), and 8D reports through root cause analysis (RCA) using Six Quality Tools (e.g., Fishbone, Pareto, Control Charts) · Maintain inspection records, test reports, and Certificates of Analysis (CoA) for audits. · Support supplier audits (onsite/remote) to ensure alignment with TydenBrooks policies. · Monitor supplier performance (PPM, OTD) and escalate chronic issues to VP of SCM. · Coach & direct suppliers to improve process, quality sense when required. · Responsible for the calibration of laboratory instruments and equipment, the daily operations of the Document Control Center (DCC), as well as collaborating with external laboratories for testing work.
2. Cross-Functional Coordination · Partner with Procurement to qualify new suppliers and review design changes. · Communicate quality risks and improvement opportunities to leadership.
