Package: Competitive salary range between RMB 25,000 – RMB 35,000 /month (13-month scale) based on matched qualification and experiences
Job Purpose:
Clinical Services International (CSI) is a global leader in clinical trial supplies, specialising in sourcing medicines, generics, diagnostics, and medical devices worldwide. We support clinical trials that shape the medicines of tomorrow.
With offices in the UK, Germany, and the USA, and partner warehouses across the globe, CSI manages the full supply chain, offering bespoke solutions for every stage of clinical trials. As part of our strong growth, we are seeking an experienced Business Development Manager to drive our expansion in China.
The Business Development Manager will be responsible for identifying, targeting, and securing new business opportunities across China, while strengthening relationships with existing clients. This role will require a strategic, consultative approach to engage with senior decision-makers and influencers within the pharmaceutical, biotech, and clinical research sectors.
Job Requirements
Strategic Planning and Execution
? Maintain solid knowledge of all CSI services and value propositions.
? Proactively identify new business opportunities and adapt strategies to changing market demands.
? Ensure appropriate strategies and solutions are proposed to our customers.
? Develop and execute territory plans to achieve revenue targets.
? Build trusted advisor relationships across multiple levels of our clients’ organisation, understanding their development pipelines, commercial goals, and supply chain needs.
? Understand our clients’ development, commercial strategy and product development portfolio.
? Cultivate strong partnerships with stakeholders, industry networks, and strategic collaborators.
? Adapt successful strategies and tactics to meet market demands and financial targets.
? Project confidence and expertise in the approach and engagement with key decision makers.
? Leading efforts to increase revenue through the acquisition of new clients and deepening engagements with existing ones.
? Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and emerging opportunities to stay ahead in the sector.
? Ensure that offline and online marketing activities directly support business growth objectives (printed materials, SEO, content marketing, online marketing, social media campaigns, design language, and others).
Skills & Experience
? Proven success in business development, ideally within clinical trials, pharmaceutical supply chains, or related life sciences sectors.
? Strong consultative selling skills with the ability to influence at senior levels.
? Excellent understanding of drug development, commercialisation, and clinical trial processes.
? Demonstrated ability to build relationships and to communicate at senior management level.
? Ability to work independently and as team player.
? Outstanding relationship-building and networking capabilities, with an extensive personal contact network.
? Ability to maintain demanding timelines.
? Attention to detail and ability to work simultaneously on multiple priorities.
Required/Preferred Education and Qualifications
? Bachelor’s degree (Life Sciences, Business, or related disciplines); master’s degree preferable.
? Several years’ experience in a relevant commercial role, ideally with international exposure.
? Independent thinker with a proactive, results-driven approach.
? Strong business acumen and the ability to manage multiple priorities under tight timelines.
? Extensive personal network of prospective contacts within the pharmaceutical sector and both domestic and international related industry groups.
? Independent thinking and action, as well as the potential to develop and take on increased responsibility.
? Outstanding interpersonal skills and proven ability to communicate and work with all levels of CSI’s organisation
? Exceptional communication skills in both Mandarin (native speaker proficiency) and English (professional fluency).

CBBC offer competitive packages which include basic gross salary, social insurance, medical insurance, housing fund and generous leave entitlement.
The gross monthly package for this position is RMB 25K– RMB 35K with annual pro rata leave entitlement of 22-days for Chinese nationals.
