JOB SUMMARY
The senior merchandiser is responsible for acting as a liaison between customers, internal departments (art, shipping, QC, accounting, etc.), and outside suppliers to follow and resolve any issues pertaining to:
1) sampling
2) sample approval
3) quotation
4) order confirmation
5) product testing
6) factory inspection and
7) shipping
This position also requires the individual to communicate with existing, and help to procure new suppliers to check product quality, and, manufacturing capacity and capability. Printing is on multiple materials including but not limited to paper, PVC and other plastics.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Communicating directly with customers to obtain project and program details.
2. Clarifying project details and recommending suggestions if customer's directions are not correct or achievable (work with art department and suppliers to solve)Working with art department for any art requests, as needed.Routing the requests to the appropriate suppliers to get quotations.
3. Arrange preliminary factory inspections, and, official inspections with customer and QA department.
4. Familiar with procedure to work with third party testing companies like SGS and BV.
5. Place, follow-up, and, deliver samples to customer.
6. Chase customer for sample approval.
7. Receive customer orders, and, enter them into the system with PO details.
8. Confirm order details to the factory.
9. Place PO and details to the factory, confirming best delivery to customer and/or customer's factory.
10. Advising shipping department of orders being sent internationally. Helping to coordinate/direct customer's forwarder to the shipping department.
