Job Purpose:
Sourcing Engineer for Local Activities, taking care of sourcing activities of raw material, trading goods, MRO and equipment mainly for Gypsum, Insulation and Mortar business.
1.Assisting or leading assigned sourcing projects.
2.Supplier development, qualification & management from Asia Pacific region for assigned products.
3.Compiling monthly report / market report / newsletter.
4.Assisting on CSR & implement of CO2 Emission policy.
5.Other tasks assigned by the Line Manager.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Kick-off a sourcing project as sourcing leader or facilitator upon a new sourcing request received from SG worldwide and then to perform it in using the most effective method.
2. Develop new suppliers to fit in sourcing demands, to reduce purchase cost and optimize supplier’s portfolio.
3. Work with suppliers and clients independently, organize meeting for technical exchange and commercial negotiation.
4. Lead whole homologation process of potential suppliers & new products including supplier evaluation / sample & technical evaluation /batch & industrial test / final validation).
5. Participate to decision process on final supplier choosing with proposal of risk management (“quality / costs” balance, contractual process, packaging & logistic, lead time, difficulty of quality control, and TCO concept) in align with supplier qualification process.
6. Establish sourcing and supplier development planning, set annual sourcing/saving target with central purchasing team together at year-end.
7. Coordinate order delivery and allocation among suppliers and ender users during market difficult time /supply shortage as well as regular order on time delivery.
8. Coordinate customer claim with both suppliers and ender users to achieve mutual agreement.
9. Product catalogue preparation for key equipment/raw materials/finished goods which we can buy from Asia (mainly in China).
10. Supplier management, establish an approved vendor list and participate to setting up and maintaining supplier evaluation system in use the supplier assessment tools, such as QMS, EVA etc.
11. Make regular statistics and reporting (Sourcing report, CSR, Monthly report, Quarterly report, Supplier Performance review, etc.).
12. Provide guidance to suppliers on CSR and carbon emission reduction to achieve sustainable purchasing.
13. Collaborate with other team members to achieve APAC IPO and GIM targets of sourcing amount, savings and conversion rate.
14. Additional works / tasks defined and instructed by the line manager.
15. Totally comply with local regulations & laws and follow site EHS procedures /rules.
Qualification Requirements:
* Typical Education Level:
- Bachelor degree or above in Mechanical/Electrical/Industrial engineering or similar.
* Relevant experience, knowledge and skills:
-Minimum 3 years’work experience in sourcing & project purchasing
-In a multinational company and experience in construction products or similar commodity will be preferred
-Strong ability to communicate with various people
-Be practice & Independent
-Be dynamic, well organized and rigorous, have good sense of synthesis
-Good capacity for quality / cost analysis
-MS office skills
-Good sense of export procedures
-Good English, including oral, listening and writing
