Job Title: Sourcing & Product Development Manager – Bedding (China-Based)
Location: China (Flexible within major manufacturing hubs)
Reports To: U.S. HQ Sourcing Director / CEO
Travel Required: Domestic and occasional international travel as needed
Position Overview
We are seeking a highly capable, proactive, and detail-oriented Sourcing & Product Development Manager to serve as the lead project manager for our bedding business with Target USA. This role requires hands-on leadership in sourcing, manufacturing coordination, quality control, and product innovation—driving seamless execution from concept to delivery.
The ideal candidate will have deep experience in the home textile industry, especially bedding, with proven success managing U.S. retailer programs (Target USA preferred), strong communication skills, and the ability to lead both factory teams and internal cross-functional teams.
Key Responsibilities
? Project Leadership:
Serve as the central project manager for all bedding developments and orders tied to our Target USA business. Ensure timelines, pricing, quality, and compliance are met throughout the product lifecycle.
? Sourcing & Vendor Management:
Develop, evaluate, and manage supplier relationships to ensure high-quality and cost-effective production. Identify and qualify new factories as needed.
? Product Development:
Work closely with U.S. PD teams and factories to drive product innovation, prototyping, and sample development. Provide input on materials, construction, and costing.
? Trend & Market Insight:
Stay updated on design and material trends, especially those relevant to the Target customer. Offer suggestions that balance innovation and commercial appeal.
? Production Oversight:
Monitor production schedules, order flow, and shipment status to ensure timely deliveries. Troubleshoot issues with urgency and ownership.
? Quality Assurance:
Coordinate with factories to uphold quality standards. Conduct inline and final inspections, resolve QC issues, and maintain compliance with U.S. retailer requirements.
? Cross-functional Communication:
Act as the daily liaison between our China-based operations and U.S. headquarters. Ensure all updates, risks, and solutions are clearly communicated in a timely manner.
? Cost Management & Negotiation:
Drive competitive pricing while maintaining product integrity. Negotiate effectively with suppliers for margin improvements and cost savings.
Qualifications
? Bachelor’s Degree or above
? Minimum 3+ years of experience in sourcing or PD within bedding/home textiles, preferably managing Target USA or other major U.S. retailer accounts
? Strong command of written and spoken English; able to communicate clearly with U.S. counterparts
? Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook); PLM or ERP system experience is a plus
? Ability to travel as needed within China and occasionally internationally
? Strong organizational, time-management, and problem-solving skills
? Keen sense of product, design trends, and U.S. market preferences
? Proven ability to lead projects independently, manage timelines, and handle pressure in a fast-paced environment
? Experience with Target’s packaging, compliance, and testing protocols is a strong plus
