OVERALL, PURPOSE OF THE ROLE
This role is responsible for the support of the entity and in particular Technical
Manager/ Technical Superintendents by ensuring that all technical records,
reports and analyses of fleet operations are properly maintained and readily
available. To ensure technical policies and procedures are consistently applied
across their assigned vessels. Finally, to ensure that all PMS data and
equipment register data are up to date and carefully structured.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Shall assist the team in the entity and on board to operate with the highest focus on safety and the environment.
· Support the team on board and ashore to always keep the best interest of the Customer in the highest regards.
· Shall assist the team in collaboration with the Group PMS Administrator in the vessels data building and PMS Structure.
· Ensure that the maintenance of the vessels database regarding Equipment Register and PMS is always up to date.
· Support the team on board and ashore to always keep any amendments and/or additions to vessels database.
· To act as the “back-up” to the Technical Superintendent under the guidance of the Technical Superintendent and under the coordination of the Technical Manager. In the absence of the Technical Superintendent, this can involve monitoring the vessel on a day-to-day basis to ensure operational continuity.
· To assist in the development of the vessel’s annual budget, as well as the preparation and review of client specific financial reporting, in conjunction with Technical Superintendents and the Procurement team.
· To assist in preparation and updating of daily, weekly, monthly & quarterly reports, under guidance of Technical Superintendent /Technical Manager.
· To be an advocate of Open Ocean Studio and ensure it is properly utilized within the entity. Support and assist colleagues where required and provide constructive feedback to aid continuous improvement of the system.
· To receive, collate and review all reports received from the vessels and ensure that any discrepancies or abnormalities within the reports are brought to the attention of the Technical Superintendent or Technical Manager in a timely manner.
· To assist the Technical Superintendent in maintaining an accurate and up to date record of vessel certificates, survey status and documentation. Assist the Technical Supt and the Technical Manager in taking necessary action to obtain renewals or extensions as required to maintain validity going forward.
· To assist the Technical Superintendent, as required, inproviding technical information to procurement in relation to requisition orders.
· Provide assistance as requested in any contingency operations and assist in establishing the root cause of any incident and/or accident investigation. Take part in any follow-up review of lessons learned.
· Arrange service attendances and coordination of the service Teams and Technicians (except navigation equipment)
· Provide assistance to the Marine Superintendent in any caseneeded.
· Monitoring the class society of the vessels regarding class surveys and the relevant certificates.
Any other duties required by Technical Manager.
Essential:
· Class 2 or Class 3 Engineer Or
· BSC Marine Mechanical/Marine/Electrical Engineering or Naval Architecture or equivalent recognized qualification
· Seagoing or ship repair/building experience an advantage.
· Experienced user of MS Office,
· Member of IMarEST or similar professional body is desirable.
· Flexibility and Ability to work with various relevant departments within the company.
· Willing to travel and adapt to the demands of a 24/7/365?operation. Self-motivated.
